Flu season is upon us and while many associate the influenza virus with the winter months, the truth is flu season starts in early fall and runs through spring. There's a lot of misconceptions about the flu and the flu vaccine, and we hope to help clear up some of the confusion in our Flu Central series, written and presented by the medical team at Central Florida Internal Medicine.

Even when "flu activity" is low in your area and in early fall, there's no better time to get the flu shot, as it takes at least two weeks to protect you from the virus. So see your doctor for a quick shot now. We welcome walk-in visits and we can often accomodate same day appointments.
